Circulation Water System Energy Saving Technology

date: Wed Jul 02 20:50:40 CST 2014

Following the launch of 23rd April of the TechnologyAssessment and Dissemination (TAD) platform and subsequent activity on vanadiumflow battery technology by Dalian Rongke Power Co Ltd, the Beijing Energy Club held its 2nd TAD activity on 2nd July 2016, focusing this time on the industrial circulation water system energy saving technology by Hangzhou Pump Energy Saving Co Ltd.

Energy saving is China’s basisnational policy in energy development. The industrial sector, which accountsfor 70% of China’s total energy consumption, is the top priority area forenergy saving. To encourage energy saving, the Chinese government haspromulgated many policies, including subsidies, company action plans, compulsory washing-out of the outdated technologies and equipment, carbontrading pilots, etc. Despite this, progress in energy saving is slow, chiefamong the reasons is lack of practical technologies, capabilities and relevantinformation.

Energy saving has been considered asa high risk, low return, low effective work. It has not attracted enoughattention by the company leaders, and it is even more so in a period of sloweconomic growth and low energy prices.

Since its establishment in 2008, HangzhouPump Energy Saving Co Ltd, relying on the combination of three patented technologies, has conducted energy saving renovations in the water circulation and centralair-conditioning systems for over 100 companies in petrochemicals, power, steeland coal conversion sectors, and hotels. Without the need for client companiesto invest, without any disturbance on the company’s production activities, andwithout any safety and security risks, Hangzhou Pump Energy Saving Co. Ltd hasachieved a cumulative saving of 700 million kWh of electricity, with an averageenergy saving rate of 30% (some projects higher than 70%), saving a lot ofmoney for the client companies, and creating a lot of economic, environmentaland social benefits.

At the event, Mr. Fan Changhai, thetechnology inventor and chief engineer of Hangzhou Pump Energy Saving Co Ltdpresented his inventions, while Mr. Yang Qingkun, Manager of TechnologyDepartment, presented the specific features of the technology, its applicationareas and all the achieved results. Representatives of two client companies,Mr. Hu Weijun of Shanghai Mitsui Petrochemicals, and Mr. Cheng Dongzhao ofHenan Fuyang Longyu Chemicals, shared the results of the technology’sapplication in their companies.

A panel of six experts assessed thetechnology from technological attractiveness, market potential, policycompatibility and economic points of view and offered recommendations for itswider applications. The experts include: Mr. Bai Rongchun, formerlyDirector-general of Energy Saving Department, State Economic and TradeCommission; Mr. Mao Jiaxiang, Vice President of Sinopec’s Economics and TechnologyResearch Institute; Dr. Liu Wenqiang, Vice President of Side Research Instituteunder the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Mr. Zhi Hui,Secretary-general of China Industrial Energy Saving and Clean ProductionAssociation; Dr. Zhai Yongping, Technical Advisor, Energy Sector Group, AsianDevelopment Bank, and Dr. Chen Xiaohua, Chief Engineer of Veolia China.

Mr. Fu Chengyu, former Chairman ofSinopec Group and currently Vice-Chairman of the Beijing Energy Club, attendedthe whole event, giving both opening and closing speeches. Dr. Xavier Chen,President of the Beijing Energy Club, chaired the whole event, which wasattended by over 100 people interested or involved in energy saving activities.
