On occasion of theChina visit by Dr. Fatih Birol, Executive Director-Elect of the International Energy Agency, the Beijing Energy Club held a discussion seminar on the 11th April entitled “Global Energy: new landscape, new opportunities”, with Dr.Birol as the guest speaker. At the seminar, Dr. Birol shared his views on the current affairs of global energy development and talked about his work priorities when he assumes duty in September this year, and exchanged ideas on topics of common interest with other participants. Mr. Zhou Dadi, Vice Chairman of BEC, Mr. Shi Dinghuan, another BEC Vice Chairman, Amb. Wu Jianmin Vice Chairman of China Association for Innovation & Development, along with 30 other participants attended the meeting.
Dr. Birolattended the inauguration of the Beijing Energy Club in December 2008 andserves as its member since then. At the luncheon held in his honor, Dr. Birolreceived his club membership certificate from Mr. Zhou Dadi, Vice Chairman ofthe BEC.
